TradeXpress® Modeler: Business flow modeling tool

Starting point for configuring your projects, TradeXpress® Modeler allows you to control all the components of TradeXpress® for: translating and copying files, controlling and completing data or setting business rules, …

Thanks to the graphical interface of the Modeler, you can simply model your technical or functional interfaces scenarios (emission/reception) such as internal business processes (invoicing, administration,…), the integration of EDI commands or the management of EAI processes.

In other words, the Modeler allows you to implement business rules to apply on flows during each process.

You can use the Modeler to mobilize and communicate with the different actors in your company or call on external components of your computer system (such as those of your partners’ IS) through the management of queries to databases, APIs, Web Services and Workflow.

The Modeler is a superimposition of TradeXpress® that allows you to add many features to TradeXpress®, such as automatic file backup, file referencing, and more.

TradeXpress® Monitoring: the surveillance system

The Modeler incorporates a monitoring system in its components. It allows to monitor the flows without going through the module, Web Access (which is now called Business Governance).

It allows to control the past and current data exchange, to follow up the user’s workflow, to manage alarms as well as to monitor technical areas (such as transport and processes).

As a user, you can monitor the execution of a process live and interact with it to stop, restart or put it on hold.

At each process execution, the monitoring system presents you with traceability data allowing you to have a complete view of each phase of the process. You can view each processing step of the process, the data exchanged at each processing step, plain text views of files (such as PDF or XML) and the status of your shipments and receipt receipts (for EDI, network or an application).

Administration of TradeXpress®

TradeXpress® Administration is the latest component of Modeler. This is a collection of all the tools and programs that are useful at the system and user levels. Specifically, it will allow you to:

– Manage system parameters (process, environment variable, configuration files…)

– Manage and create TradeXpress environments®

– Manage users (profile creation, user assignment, login and password management)

– Manage the different web services (Webservices)

TradeXpress® Modeler: for what types of projects?

You can do EDI and EAI projects with the TradeXpress® Modeler.

Although more commonly used for EAI projects, the TradeXpress® Modeler is a perfect fit for EDI projects and allows business rules to be integrated into each process and any number of conditions and actions to be linked.

One of the advantages of Modeler is to have a simplified operation of the system, provided that you have well planned and modelled business processes in advance.

TradeXpress® Modeler Vigilance Points

Despite its great flexibility of use, it is necessary to be vigilant on certain aspects of the Modeler. It is this flexibility and versatility that makes it a complex tool to master.

Indeed, it can include very elaborate business rules and therefore the processes integrating these business rules can become complex to maintain.

Migrating to a new version of TradeXpress® can also be more complicated due to the complexity of some workflows and will require training from your technical team or a TradeXpress® expert.
